Role of the Artisan
Lab Systemic
Fashion Change
The Fashion System Change Lab, part of the broader HxN initiative, is a research-driven laboratory focused on transforming the luxury fashion industry, which has significant room for reform—an essential element in driving systemic change. The lab examines the luxury fashion sector’s role in sustainability and its potential to lead the way toward regenerative practices.
Our aim is to explore how the luxury sector can use its influence and resources to address key issues such as biodiversity restoration, social equity, and economic prosperity. The team consists of 10 specialists from various sectors of the fashion and textile industries, who meet to discuss solutions to a wide range of topics, from sustainable materials and garment production to post-consumer waste and circular economy models.
The lab is preparing to engage the public through an online workshop where these critical subjects will be discussed. Our goal is to foster dialogue and collaboration, with plans to host events that involve the broader community in these vital conversations.
At the core of our approach is the belief that sustainability in fashion is not a one-size-fits-all solution. It demands a multifaceted strategy, addressing everything from supply chains to consumer habits.
While the challenges may be complex, even small changes within the luxury sector can create a ripple effect, driving broader industry-wide improvements.
